Say NO to plastic bags!

EPA reports that 500 billion-1 trillion plastic bags are

consumed worldwide each year. Less than 1% of these bags

are recycled.

Where do they go?

They get blown around.  They get caught in trees. Plastic

bags account for over 10% of the debris washed up on the

US coastline.

Nearly 200 different species of sea life including whales,

dolphins, seals and turtles die each year due to plastic bags.

What do we do?

If we use cloth bags we save:

6 bags per week

=      24 bags per month

=   288 bags per year

=   22,176 in average lifetime

If only 1 person out of 5 people in this country did this, we

 would save

1,330,560,000,000 over a lifetime.
